Softball Finishes Series Against Wagner College

STATEN ISLAND, New York (March 27, 2023)- Today, the Stonehill College softball team hit the road for Staten Island, New York to play in a single game against Wagner College at Lower Field Softball Field. The Skyhawks played in their final game of the weekend series today, hoping to grab a win, but losing in a tough game.

GAME 1: In the first game against Wagner, the Skyhawks were able to put up two runs, but ended with a loss of 0-2.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Starting the Skyhawks hitting in the top of the second inning, first basemen Alyssa Grossi single to left field, with second basemen Courtney Brochu grounded out to third base shortly after, able to advance Grossi to second on a SAC, before the end of the inning.
  • In the top of the third inning, shortstop Emily Nardelli was walked and was able to advance to third after a double from third basemen Shannon Conte, with the inning ending shortly after.
  • With the score staying at 0-0 for six innings, Wagner was able to come back and earn two runs off of 2 RBIs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
  • Pitcher Skylar Brandemarte pitched a great game, pitching 5 strikeouts, with three innings being three up–three down
