EASTON, Massachusetts (April 13, 2021) – Stonehill College baseball's sophomore Edward Beauregard Jr was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for his performance in the field, on the mound, and at the plate, announced by the League on Monday.  

The Skyhawks, who are currently receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Poll and taking the No. 4 spot in week two of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Coaches Poll, are 8-7 overall and 5-7 in the Conference.

This past week, Stonehill went 3-3, including taking a third win against Saint Michael's College in the four-game series, 13-5, as well as splitting the four-game series against Assumption University with winning scores of 5-4 and 7-2.


Beauregard threw his first complete game in the Purple & White

Beauregard led the team with a .412 batting average as he went 7-for-17 at the plate. He scored 4 runs and drove in two RBI, adding a double, his second of the season to his stats. On the mound, the sophomore threw his first-collegiate complete game, 9.0 innings of work, earning his third win of his career (3-0), with a 7-2 victory over Assumption. He struck out a career-best six batters, allowing five hits and two earned runs.

In the field at third base and pitching, he only allowed two errors, with six putouts, and seven assists in the six games played.

Beauregard went to Wachusett Regional High School where he played baseball and soccer and then graduated from Worcester Academy

Stonehill will host Bentley University (9-3, 9-3 NE10), tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14 for a non-conference single game with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch on Lou Gorman Field. The Skyhawks will then travel to New York for a doubleheader non-conference matchup against Pace University on Saturday, April 14.
