EASTON, Mass. (June 28, 2022)- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field All-Region honorees earlier last week. The Stonehill College men's track and field program had six earn All-Region accolades.

The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events. Stonehill's men totaled six and the women earned 11. The Northeast-10 Conference led all Division II conferences with a grand total of 181 student-athletes earning All-Region honors.

King led the way for the Skyhawks earning his first two USTFCCCA All-Region honors for his performances in the 4x100 relay and the high jump. In the relay, King along with Nate SkopasShea Drugan, and Zachary Ofurum (first-time USTFCCCA winners) posted a season-best time of 41.77 seconds for fourth place at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Track and Field Championships (third in the NE10). King's second USTFCCCA came from his strong performance in the high jump when he set a personal record with a leap of 1.99m (6'6.25") at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships for second place and was also the second-best mark in the conference.

Along with Skopas, Drugan, and Ofurm, senior thrower Robert Lisi, earned his first USTFCCCA recognition in the hammer throw when he tossed a career-best 48.15m for second place at the Merrimack Alumni Classic (third in the NE10). Jacob Pacheco also took home his first career USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the pole vault when he set a personal-best at the NE10 Outdoor Track and FIeld Championships. At the meet, Pacheco's toss went 4.56m (14'11.5") for third place and marked the fourth-longest throw in the conference.

Stonehill wrapped up the season by taking fifth place at the NE10 Outdoor Championships and marked the fourth time in five years the team has finished within the top five. The Skyhawks also sent four to the New England Outdoor Championships.
