Old Saybrook, Conn. sophomore pole vaulter earns NE10 Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

EASTON, Mass.- For the first time in his career, sophomore pole vaulter, Cody DeAngelo has been named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Week per the conference earlier this afternoon.

In the Sorlien Memorial Invite at the University of Rhode Island (URI), DeAngelo set a new career-high in the pole vault at 4.20 meters for sixth place. DeAngelo topped his previous career-high of 4.00 meters set back in May 2021. In each meet he has competed in this season, DeAngelo has finished within the top-10 each time and no lower than sixth place. 

In his first meet of the season (Harvard Multi & Beantown Challenge), DeAngelo made his collegiate indoor track debut in the pole vault and posted an impressive mark of 4.00 meters for a fifth-place finish. 

Stonehill heads back to URI next week when the squad will compete in the Coaches Tribute Meet for a 10 a.m. start.
