Bhatia and Lindeman lead three double-winners for Warriors

EASTON, Mass. (April 4, 2023) – Stonehill College closed out its inaugural NCAA Division I season with a 6-1 setback to Merrimack College in a Northeast Conference men's tennis matchup at Charles Watt Tennis Courts this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Junior Aryaan Bhatia and sophomores Charles Robertson and Henrik Lindeman were all double-winners for Merrimack in the NEC matchup.
  • Postgrad Andre Singer and senior Pedro de Godoy Mancini notched singles wins for the Warriors.
  • Freshman Nathaniel Graves was a double-winner for Stonehill.

How It Happened

  • Robertson and sophomore Valentin Riveros clinched the doubles point for Merrimack with a 7-6 (7-0) decision over Stonehill senior Luke Nickerson and freshman Mark Kröll at No. 2 doubles.
  • Robertson followed with a straight sets win at No. 3 singles against Stonehill freshman Mathias Langaard.
  • Bhatia and Lindeman combined for a win at No. 1 doubles and then Bhatia added a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Kröll.
  • Lindeman won by the same score at No. 2 singles against senior Christian Duffy.
  • Graves and Langaard posted a win for Stonehill at No. 3 doubles against Singer and de Godoy Mancini, 6-4.
  • Graves earned a point for Stonehill, rallying from a set down for a 1-6, 6-2, 10-7 decision at No. 5 singles against Riveros.

Stonehill closes out its inaugural Division I season with a 7-15 record overall, including 0-5 in the NEC. Merrimack (6-11, 3-2 NEC) visits LIU for an NEC match on Friday at 2 p.m.
