Mallen and de Bénazé double-winners to lead Skyhawks

EASTON, Mass. (September 27, 2022) – Stonehill College cruised to a 7-0 victory over Clark University in a non-conference men's tennis match at Charles Watt Tennis Courts this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Sophomore Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé and freshman Mateo Mallen were double-winners to lead Stonehill to the victory.
  • Senior Christian Duffy didn't drop a game in posting his win at No. 2 singles as the Skyhawks swept the six singles matches.
  • Senior Dariy Vykhodtsev and freshman Graham Russo posted a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles for Clark.

How it Happened

  • Mallen and de Bénazé rolled to a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles for Stonehill, while freshmen Mathias Langaard and Donovan Rodrigues clinched the doubles point for the Skyhawks with their 6-3 win at No. 3.
  • Duffy notched Stonehill's first singles point with his 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Russo.
  • Freshman Mark Kröll added a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles against Clark sophomore Ryan Hovey.
  • de Bénazé capped his two-win day with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 4 singles against Clark senior Sam Pomann.
  • Mallen added his second win of the afternoon with his 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles against Vykhodtsev.
  • Senior Luke Nickerson and freshman Nathaniel Graves rounded out the singles sweep with their wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
