HAVERHILL, Mass. (February 11, 2023) – Merrimack College secured a 6-1 victory over Stonehill College in a Northeast Conference men's tennis match at Cedardale Health & Fitness this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Junior Aryaan Bhatia and sophomores Henrik Lindeman and Charles Robertson were all double-winners to lead Merrimack.
  • Bhatia and Lindeman opened with a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles for Merrimack.
  • Bhatia followed that up with a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles against freshman Mateo Mallen, while Lindeman registered a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles against Stonehill senior Christian Duffy.
  • Robertson rounded out the Warriors double-winners with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles against sophomore Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé after he combined with sophomore Valentin Riveros for a win at No. 2 doubles.
  • Freshman Mark Kröll was a double-winner to lead Stonehill. He defeated Riveros 6-4, 7-5 at No. 5 singles for the Skyhawks after teaming up with classmate Nathaniel Graves for a 6-4 decision at No. 3 doubles.

Stonehill (6-3, 0-1 NEC) returns to action next Saturday, when it faces College of the Holy Cross in a non-conference dual match at the Paxton Tennis & Fitness Club in Paxton, Massachusetts, at 1p.m. Merrimack (2-4, 1-0 NEC) hosts Franklin Pierce University tomorrow at noon.
