Seoane saw his first multi-point game of his career

FOXBORO, Massachusetts (February 1, 2019) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team tied up the game at two, 2-2, before Assumption College scored four goals to take its second win of the series, 6-2, Friday night at Foxboro Sports Center.
For Stonehill, (6-12-1, 1-8-1 NE10), Charles Page and Ryan Meade tallied goals, while Mike Seoane chipped in two assists on the night. Senior goaltender Billy Palmer notched 43 saves to match his season high.
In the first period, Assumption held the puck for most of the frame getting off 21 shots, but Stonehill scored the first goal of the game as Page scored his ninth goal of the season at 8:54. Seoane assisted in the tally, for his fifth helper of the season, putting the Skyhawks up 1-0. The Greyhounds fought back, continuing to slap the puck at the cage, scoring the equalizer at 17:37 by Robert Holyoke, 1-1. Stonehill was called for the first penalty of the game at 19:19, and the Skyhawks killed the final seconds of the first period, rolling into the second period with a man down.
Assumption was quick coming out of the locker room scoring less than a minute into the frame. Matt Damelio gave the Greyhounds their first lead, 2-1, with a power play goal. Three minutes later Seoane chipped the puck over to Meade who scored his sixth goal of the season and eighth of his career, while Seoane saw his first multi-point game of his career, tying the score at two a piece, 2-2. Assumption then scored three goals in four minutes and 30-seconds, as the final goal of the period was a shorthanded tally at 15:49, expanding the Greyhounds' lead to three, 5-2.
In the third period, Assumption sat back as Stonehill tried to get past their defense to get up another score. Unfortunately, the Greyhounds saw Damelio tally his second goal of the game in an empty net situation at 18:24 after Stonehill pulled Palmer at 16:58. Assumption came close to scoring on the empty net, but Stonehill held its ground until the sixth goal for the Greyhounds for a four-goal advantage, 6-2.
The Skyhawks travel to Worcester, Massachusetts to battle the Greyhounds for the final game of the three-game series tomorrow, Saturday, February 2 with an 8:05 p.m. puck drop at Buffone Arena.
