EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2021) – Three Stonehill College seniors are among 38 from NCAA Division II selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior Team, the organization announced.

Stonehill seniors Elisha Brinkman, Abigail Campbell and Emma Mawn represent Stonehill on the NFHCA Division II Senior Team for 2021. The trio are among 16 from the Northeast-10 Conference selected to the Senior Team. The selected student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coach and chosen based on their career accomplishments.

The members of the 2021 Division II Senior Team were initially announced during a live video presentation featuring member coaches. In lieu of the traditional coach-led trophy presentation at the NFHCA Senior Games — which were cancelled due to limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic — coaches were given the opportunity to announce the name of their Senior Team honoree(s). In addition to the video announcement, a custom t-shirt featuring the names of all Senior Team members was created in honor of the award and will be delivered to each honoree — along with a commemorative trophy — in the coming weeks.

Brinkman, a team captain this fall, earns a spot on the 2021 NFHCA Senior Team after being selected to the All-NE10 second team this season. The Stonehill captain earned All-Conference honors for the first time after playing all 18 games this fall, starting 17, as a vital two-way player for the Skyhawks in midfield. She has totaled three goals and four assists for ten points, ranking second on the team in assists, while contributing a defensive save. Brinkman recorded a goal and assist in wins over Southern New Hampshire University on September 28 and Southern Connecticut State University on October 29.

Brinkman is also a two-time Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, medal recipient for having the highest cumulative GPA on the field hockey team.

Campbell also earns a spot on the NFHCA Senior Team after earning All-NE10 honors for the first time in her career this fall with third team honors. She started all 18 games in the Stonehill goal this fall and ranks fourth among NE10 goalkeepers (7th nationally) with her 1.07 goals against average, ranking third in the NE10 and fourth nationally with her .827 save percentage, averaging 5.1 saves per game to rank tenth in the NE10. Campbell earned NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice over the course of the fall, picking up NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week accolades as well on September 29.

Campbell, who played just under 75 minutes over four games in her first two seasons with Stonehill, posted double-digit save totals twice this fall, including a career-high 13 to preserve a 2-0 shutout win over Adelphi University on September 25. She also logged 11 stops in a 3-2 win over then No. 3 Saint Anselm on September 14. Campbell has posted a 1.05 goals against average and .821 save percentage with 4.2 saves per game (92 total) in 1,139:02 over 22 career games played, with the five shutouts.

Mawn earns a spot on the NFHCA Senior Team after starting all 18 games as a Stonehill captain this fall. She finished third on the team in scoring with 13 points, with her five goals tied for second on the team to go with three assists. Mawn scored the match-winning goal in the Skyhawks 3-2 win at American International College on October 23 and totaled a season-high three points with a goal and assist in a 7-1 win over Mercy College on September 18.

Mawn started 35 of the 51 games she played over her Stonehill career and totaled 12 goals and ten assists or 34 points. Her AIC gamewinning goal was the first of her career and she posted career-bests with six goals and six assists for 18 points as a sophomore in 2019, earning a spot on the All-NE10 third team. Mawn netted a hat trick in a 6-2 Stonehill win over Pace University on September 28, 2019. She has received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award and was named to the NFHCA Division II Honor Squad for the first time last spring. She has earned a spot on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll all six semesters to date, with Academic Distinction status four semesters, and been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll five semesters to date.

Stonehill, ranked No. 10 in the final regular season Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II poll, finished its season with a 13-5 record overall, including 11-3 in the NE10. The Skyhawks made their NE10 record matching 22nd NE10 Tournament appearance as the No. 3 seed, and were under consideration for an NCAA Tournament bid with a regional ranking leading up to the championship field announcement.
