#5 Field Hockey Wins Fifth-Straight at Franklin Pierce, 4-1

RINDGE, N.H. (September 22, 2021) - Sophomores Meghan Bean and Raegan Hickey each notched a goal and assist to lead No. 5-ranked Stonehill, ranked No. 5 in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Assocation (NFHCA) Division II poll, to its fifth-straight win in a Northeast-10 Conference field hockey matchup at Sodexo Field this afternoon.

The Details

  • Bean opened the scoring just 3:12 into the contest as she knocked in her second goal of the season off a pass from the right side by Hickey.
  • Stonehill struck for two more within a 90-second span in the second quarter. Senior Emma Mawn lifted a shot into the cage off a pass from sophomore Claudia Crowe 2:57 into the second.
  • Senior Olivia Cameron scored for the second-straight game 1:21 later, assisted by classmate Elisha Brinkman, at 19:17.
  • Hickey capped Stonehill's scoring 3:16 into the second half, with Bean providing the assist before Franklin Pierce got on the scoreboard with 5:57 remaining with sophomore Silver Clukey netting her second goal of the season.

    Senior Abigail Campbell finished with six saves in the Stonehill goal, while sophomore Madeleine McGee, the reigning NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week, notched her third defensive save of the season.
  • Freshman Addy Araneo registered nine stops in the Franklin Pierce cage.
