NE10 Announces Field Hockey Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams

EASTON, Mass. (November 3, 2021) – Five members of the Stonehill College field hockey program have earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors, as selected by the Conference's 15 head coaches, the league announced. In addition, three were named to the NE10's All-Rookie Team.

Sophomore forward Raegan Hickey highlights Stonehill's All-NE10 honors with her selection to the first team. Joining her with All-NE10 recognition are senior Elisha Brinkman, junior Andrea Caradonna and sophomore Madeleine McGee with second team honors, while senior Abigail Campbell rounds out the Skyhawks with All-NE10 recognition on the third team. Hickey is the 32nd All-NE10 first team selection in program history, marking the 18th-straight season Stonehill has had a first team honoree, while the five Skyhawks give the program 71 All-Conference selections all-time. All five honorees earn All-NE10 accolades for the first time in their careers.

Hickey and McGee also earned spots on the NE10's All-Rookie Team, along with sophomore Claudia Crowe. The three earning All-Rookie status match the program best set in 2010 and marks the fourth-straight season Stonehill has had multiple selections to that team. The program has now had 21 All-Rookie Team selections since the NE10 started the award in 2008.

Hickey earns All-NE10 honors for the first time, as well as a spot on the All-Rookie team, after making an immediate impact at forward this fall. She played all 18 games for Stonehill, starting 17, and ranks eighth among NE10 scoring leaders with her team-high 29 points, second in the Conference with a team-high 11 assists to go with a team-best eight goals (15th NE10). Hickey ranks seventh nationally for assists per game (0.56) with her assist total tied for fourth on Stonehill's all-time single-season list. The three-time NE10 Rookie of the Week finished with two gamewinning goals and registered multiple points in six games, including a career-best two assists in a 3-1 win over Saint Michael's College on October 6.

Brinkman earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in her career with her second team selection. The Stonehill captain played all 18 games this season, starting 17, as a vital two-way player for the Skyhawks in midfield. She has totaled three goals and four assists for ten points, ranking second on the team in assists, while contributing a defensive save. Brinkman recorded a goal and assist in wins over Southern New Hampshire University on September 28 and Southern Connecticut State University on October 29.

Brinkman has started 35 of 49 games played over her Stonehill career, totaling seven goals and eight assists for 22 points. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll all six semesters at the College to date and received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award two years for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. Brinkman is also a two-time Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, medal recipient for having the highest cumulative GPA on the field hockey team.

Caradonna, an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman in 2019, and McGee, who also earns All-Rookie Team honors this fall, are both named All-Conference for the first time in their careers with second team selections. The duo leads a Stonehill defense that ranks fourth in the NE10 and seventh nationally in Division II with a 1.09 team goals against average and seven shutouts (8th Division II). The Skyhawks defense has held opponents to 10.9 shots and 7.3 penalty corners per game.

Caradonna started all 18 games for Stonehill this fall, dishing out one assist, while earning NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors three times. She has started all 35 games of her collegiate career over two seasons at Stonehill, chipping in with a goal and two assists for four points, with one defensive save. Her lone career goal was the gamewinner in a 2-0 victory over American International College on October 12, 2019.

McGee started all 17 of the games she played for Stonehill and had an immediate impact with the defensive unit this fall, earning NE10 Defensive Player of the Week accolades in back-to-back weeks and was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Defensive Player of the Week on September 22. She recorded a team-best three defensive saves over the course of the season, including a pair in the Skyhawks 3-2 triumph over then No. 3-ranked Saint Anselm College on September 14, when she also scored her first career goal.

Campbell rounds out Stonehill's All-NE10 selections with her third team selection. She started all 18 games in the Stonehill goal this fall and ranks fifth among NE10 goalkeepers (8th nationally) with her 1.07 goals against average, ranking third both in the NE10 and nationally with her .827 save percentage, averaging 5.1 saves per game to rank tenth in the NE10. Campbell earned NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice over the course of the fall, picking up NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week accolades as well on September 29.

Campbell, who played just under 75 minutes over four games in her first two seasons with Stonehill, posted double-digit save totals twice this season, including a career-high 13 to preserve a 2-0 shutout win over Adelphi University on September 25. She also logged 11 stops in a 3-2 win over then No. 3 Saint Anselm on September 14. Campbell has posted a 1.05 goals against average and .821 save percentage with 4.2 saves per game (92 total) in 1,139:02 over 22 career games played, with the five shutouts.

Crowe rounds out Stonehill's postseason award recipients with her spot on the NE10 All-Rookie Team. She is second on the team with her five goals, three assists and 13 points in 18 games played. A team-leading four (2nd NE10) of her five goals are gamewinners and she posted multiple points with a goal (GWG) and assist in Stonehill's 3-2 win over then No. 3 Saint Anselm on September 14, marking the first goal and assist of her collegiate career.

Stonehill (13-5, 11-3 NE10), ranked No. 10 in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, made its NE10 record matching 22nd NE10 Tournament appearance this week as the No. 3 seed in the tournament. The Skyhawks are ranked No. 4 in this week's NCAA Division II East Regional rankings, with a new ranking due out today, as they await their NCAA Tournament fate when the region's three teams are selected next Monday, November 8, via ncaa.com at 3 p.m.
