EASTON, Mass. (September 28, 2021) – Stonehill College senior outside hitter Abby Remick has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for volleyball, the league announced this afternoon.

Remick earns NE10 Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after she averaged 3.40 kills, 0.40 service aces, 3.50 digs and 0.30 blocks per set in a 3-0 week for Stonehill that featured wins over rival Bentley University, Saint Anselm College and then American International College in its NE10 opener on Saturday. She opened the week with a double-double of ten kills and ten digs, with an ace and block assists in Tuesday's 3-0 non-conference win over Bentley. Remick followed that with nine kills, two aces, eight digs and a block assist in Thursday's 3-0 win over Saint Anselm. She capped the week with another double-double of 15 kills and 17 digs, while adding an ace and block assist in Saturday's 3-1 win at American International to open the NE10 schedule.

Remick has appeared in all 13 matches for Stonehill this season, as the Skyhawks have won eight of their last nine, and ranks 13th among NE10 leaders with 2.95 kills per set and 15th with 3.40 points per set. She is hitting .131 for the season, while adding 0.28 service aces (2nd on team), 2.19 digs (3rd) and 0.26 blocks (5th) per set this season.

Remick enters the week having totaled 576 kills, with a .153 career hitting percentage, 36 service aces, 325 digs and 50 blocks in 212 career sets played over 62 matches. She has posted three double-doubles this season, giving her seven for her career and was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2018, when she was also an NE10 Rookie of the Week selection once. Remick has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll every semester, received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award and earned the Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal in 2020 for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team.

Stonehill (8-5, 1-0 NE10) is back in action tonight for a non-conference match at Mercy College at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday, to host Southern New Hampshire University for an NE10 match at Merkert Gymnasium at 1 p.m.
