Volleyball Continues to Roll with Saint Anselm Sweep, 3-0

EASTON, Mass. (September 23, 2021) - Stonehill College posted its seventh win over its last eight matches with a commanding three game sweep of Saint Anselm College, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22, in a non-conference volleyball match at Merkert Gymnasium tonight.

Senior Lauren Wilke posted a double-double for Stonehill with 17 assists and ten digs, while adding five kills, with a .308 hitting percentage and three block assists. Sophomore Jentry Allen contributed a season-high ten kills, with just one attack error, for a .450 hitting percentage, three digs and a block assist. Senior Abby Remick added nine kills, eight digs and two service aces, while classmate Carly Russell contributed 15 digs. Junior Molly Turner dished out 19 assists and delivered three aces.

Junior Michelle Henwood dished out 22 assists for Saint Anselm, to go with nine digs and five kills, with a .500 hitting percentage. Junior Caroline Belmontez totaled 18 digs, with four assists and two aces, while classmate Lauren Casey added seven kills, nine digs and three block assists.

Stonehill (7-5, 0-0 NE10) is back in action on Saturday, when it opens its Northeast-10 Conference schedule at American International College at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks return home next Saturday, October 2, when it hosts Southern New Hampshire University at 1 p.m. Saint Anselm (9-3, 0-0 NE10) hosts Franklin Pierce University for its NE10 opener on Saturday at 3 p.m.
