EASTON, Mass. (November 15, 2021) – Stonehill College junior John Day has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Week by the league office this afternoon.

Day averaged 35.5 saves per game, with a .922 save percentage and 2.89 goals against average over Stonehill's two-game weekend NE10 series at Saint Anselm College. He opened with a career-high 44 saves, posting a .939 save percentage, in Friday night's 3-3 overtime deadlock with the Hawks. He followed that up with 27 saves in Saturday's weekend finale against the Hawks.

Day has started five of Stonehill's six games in goal so far this season, playing all but 100-minutes, and ranks second among NE10 leaders with 145 saves, averaging 29.0 per game, with a 3.42 goals against average (4^th NE10) and .906 save percentage (4^th) in 262:49 (3^rd). He has registered 30-plus saves in three of his five starts this season, including his career-best total on Friday night, while his 27 stops on Saturday are his fourth-highest total this season to date. Day notched his first collegiate win with a 31-save effort at Assumption University on November 5.

Day has now started six games over his Stonehill career, posting a 3.12 goals against average and .912 save percentage with 29.3 saves per game in 327:21. He has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple semesters, while also earning Dean's List status as a marketing major at the College. Day serves as a student fellow for Team IMPACT on the Stonehill campus.

Stonehill (2-3-1, 2-1-1 NE10) returns to the ice tomorrow night for a non-conference matchup at Framingham State University at 7:40 p.m. The Skyhawks are back on home ice on Saturday to host Southern New Hampshire University for an NE10 clash and their Purple & White Game at the Bridgewater Ice Arena at 4:30 p.m.
