EASTON, Mass. (February 6, 2024) – Senior Abigail Larsson (Baypoint, N.Y.) was named the Northeast Conference women's Field Athlete of the Week and a Prime Performer, the conference announced Tuesday.

Larsson broke the Stonehill women's indoor track and field record in the pole vault on Saturday at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Center, a mark that had stood since Alison Tobin set the record on Feb. 25, 2018, also at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

Larsson reached 3.68m (12' 0.75") to place fifth at Saturday's meet while moving into the No. 1 spot in the NEC. She surpassed the top mark in the conference that had stood since the first day of the indoor season when Sacred Heart's Jenna Engels reached 3.65m (11' 11.75" on Dec. 2, 2023.

Senior Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.) was also named a Prime Performer by the NEC after the fastest 400m of the season in the Northeast Conference. This is her first Prime Performer nod of the indoor season and the fourth of her career after earning three a year ago in the Skyhawks' inaugural NEC season.

Encarnacao placed 32nd out of 179 runners on Saturday, finishing the 400m dash in 57.17 seconds to set the newest top mark in the NEC. Her time of 57.17 seconds is the fourth-fastest 400m in Stonehill women's track and field history.

Stonehill track and field is back in action at the University of Rhode Island for the second time this season, competing in the URI Coaches Invitational at Mackal Field House on Saturday, Feb. 10 in the final meet before Northeast Conference championships.
