Women’s Track and Field Competes in First Meet of 2024 at UMass Flagship Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. (January 14, 2024) - The Stonehill College women's track and field team competed in the University of Massachusetts Flagship Indoor Invitational Sunday at the TRACK at New Balance.

RESULTS

FIELD EVENTS

  • Senior Abigail Larsson (Bayport, N.Y.) finished 12th with a mark of 3.25m in the pole vault.
  • Freshman Kayla Oakes (Kingston, N.Y.) reached a distance of 5.32m in the long jump to place 15th.
  • Sophomore Darla Jagrosse (Wallingford, Conn.) came in 17th in the shot put with a throw reaching 11.31m.

TRACK EVENTS

  • In the 1-mile race, sophomore Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn.) made her indoor season debut with an eighth-place finish, crossing the finish line in 5:03.48 to set a new personal best.
  • Freshman Kellie Harrington (Pittsfield, Mass.) ran in the 1-mile race for the first time in her young career, placing 21st with a time of 5:18.5.
  • Freshman Madison Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) competed in the 400m race for the first time, coming in 15th place with a time of 59.62 seconds.
  • Finishing right behind Stott was sophomore Grace Tyrrell (Cavendish, Vt.) who clocked in at 1:00.11.
  • The Stonehill 4x400m relay team consisting of Stott, Tyrell, freshman Katie Gibbons (Pembroke, Mass.), and sophomore Allison Moloney (Brimfield, Mass.).
