How it Happened

  • Stonehill got on the board in the 7th minute, as Fawaz handled the ball through the middle of the attacking zone and sent a pass to Caso who turned and fired a right-footed shot from just over 20 yards out that went bar down after going over the outstretched arms of the Blue Devils goalie.
  • In the thirteenth minute, Jackson recorded her first save as a cross from the far left side of the field from a CCSU forward came curling towards the net, but the senior goalie punched away the threat.
  • The Blue Devils had another scoring opportunity a minute later when Giavanna Inzerillo was given a penalty shot but missed the net, pushing her shot wide right.
  • Kiley Yepes put a left-footed shot on goal for CCSU in the 40th minute but Jackson came out to secure the ball and keep the Skyhawks in front 1-0 going into the half.
  • Abbie Burgess tied the game for CCSU in the 65th minute, taking a right-footed shot from about 15 yards out that found the top right corner of the net past Durham, tying the score at 1-1.
  • Durham notched her first save in the 76th minute when a header from Aoife Horgan was redirected toward the Stonehill goal but was no problem for the senior goalie as she calmly grabbed the loose ball.
  • The two teams would go scoreless the remainder of the match as they ended their regular seasons with a draw after Durham stopped two more scoring chances in the final six minutes of the match.
