How it Happened

  • Stonehill wasted little time applying offensive pressure on Saint Francis, spending most of the time in the offensive end of the field throughout the opening minutes of the game.
  • However, in the 12th minute, the Red Flash would find the back of the net after a cross from Persichetty found the boot of Kendziora for the contest's opening score.
  • Both sides would go back-and-forth throughout the remainder of the opening 45 minutes, as the Skyhawks would head into the break trailing by one.
  • Coming out into the second half of action, Stonehill regained its offensive pressure from early on, registering six shot attempts and three corner kicks over a 10-minute span midway through the second half.
  • Saint Francis would respond in the 63rd minute with Paino's first career goal off an assist from Miko.
  • With the Red Flash leading 2-0 heading into the waning minutes of the contest, Schultz nearly cut the deficit in half, finding the back of net in the 89th minute on a scramble inside the 18-yard box. However, the goal would be waved off due to an offside call by the official, resulting in the game ending at a final score of 2-0.
