How it Happened

  • Stonehill's defense held tough early, keeping UMass Lowell off the board with back-to-back blocks in the fourth minute of the contest.
  • After going back-and-forth through the middle of the field, applying pressure on either end of the pitch, sophomore Katie Carey nearly scored the game's opening goal in the 41st minute, as she danced through defenders and sent a shot just high of the top right corner.
  • With a scoreless opening half in the books, Stonehill would light up the scoreboard first in the 59th minute after Webster found the back of the net. Webster would capitalize on a rebound off a shot on goal from sophomore Hannah Anselmo.
  • UMass Lowell would draw even in the 87th minute after a loose ball in front of the Stonehill goal off a free kick was put in the back of the net by Santaniello.
  • Despite a late chance from the River Hawks attack, the Skyhawks defense would hold on to earn the 1-1 draw.
