Women's Soccer Falls at Le Moyne, 1-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (September 21, 2023) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team dropped its Northeast Conference matchup at Le Moyne College, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon.     

Highlights 

  • Senior Emmy Dumaresq finished with a team-high four shots on goal against Le Moyne.
  • Senior goalkeeper Mia Jackson tallied one save in going the full 90 minutes in net for Stonehill.
  • First-year student Lily Roslonek and junior Grace Caso each recorded shots on goal for the Skyhawks.
  • Junior Sierra Edwards netted her second goal of the season and lone goal of the game for the Dolphins.
  • Postgrad netminder Allison Moreau registered seven saves in securing her first clean sheet of the season for Le Moyne.

How it Happened 

  • Throughout the opening 25 minutes of the opening frame, both sides would go back-and-forth playing throughout the middle third of the field, until the 27th minute where Caso registered the first shot attempt of the contest.
  • Coming out of for the second half of action, Stonehill looked to open the scoring as sophomore Katie Carey and Roslonek recorded shot attempts in the 48th and 51st minutes, respectively.
  • However, the Dolphins would respond to the Skyhawks scoring chances with a goal in the 52nd minute off the boot of Edwards for her second goal of the season.
  • Despite Stonehill's late effort to score the equalizer, registering two shots on goal in a two-second span in the 85th minute, the Skyhawks would fall short against the Dolphins, 1-0.
