Bottiglieri Scores Big in Final Game of La Jolla Softball Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. (February 12, 2023)- The Stonehill College softball team finished their time at the La Jolla Invitational in La Jolla, California, where the team competed in their final game of the tournament against the University of Northern Colorado, where the team had a close game, losing 4-2.

  • A thrilling performance from freshman right fielder Natalie Bottiglieri, who hit an inside-the-park homerun, bringing in right fielder Megan Weis, earning two RBIs, making the score 2-0 in the top of the third. Along with that play, Bott hit a single to shortstop in the top of the sixth.
  • Pitcher Skylar Brandemarte pitched the entirety of the game, facing 28 batters and posting one strikeout.
  • Northern Colorado brought in four runs for their team, including a single to the right side by Navarro, advancing Gonzales to third and Fisher home, earning two RBIs.
