The Game
Stonehill men's basketball celebrates its six seniors and graduate students at Merkert Gymnasium Saturday afternoon prior to a Northeast Conference matchup against Saint Francis U. This will be the pentultimate home game for the Skyhawks with the final coming on Thursday against Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Stonehill looks to keep its NEC playoff hopes alive with a win against The Red Flash as Saint Francis sits 1.5 games ahead of the Skyhawks in the conference standings. Both Stonehill and SFU will be looking for wins amidst losing streaks as the Skyhawks have dropped their past four games and The Red Flash have lost three in a row, their last win coming against Stonehill at DeGol Arena.

Scouting the Red Flash
The Red Flash are 8-19 on the year while being 3-11 in league play. When traveling on the road, Saint Francis is 2-12 on the season and 0-6 in conference action. Saint Francis has lost three straight games coming into Saturday's matchup including a 71-60 loss at Merrimack in its most recent matchup. The Red Flash lead the NEC in offensive rebounds per game, corralling 12.0 per game. Saint Francis is led in the scoring category by sophomore Cam Gregory who averages 13.4 points per game, the ninth best mark in the conference. Freshman Eli Wilborn is the Red Flash's leading rebounder as well as the conference's second-leading rebounder, averaging 7.5 boards per game. Wilborn is also third in the NEC with 1.6 blocked shots per game.

Against the Red Flash
Saturday afternoon's game will mark the fourth meeting in the all-time series between Stonehill and Saint Francis, a series that began last year when the Skyhawks joined the NEC. In the most recent matchup, the Red Flash won 72-63 in Loretta Pa. as they now lead the all-time series, 2-1. Both teams defended home court in the regular season series last year, with the Red Flash taking a 73-72 win at DeGol Arena and the Skyhawks winning at Merkert Gym, 74-61.

LAST TIME OUT
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (February 17, 2024) Stonehill men's basketball dropped a Northeast Conference matchup at Ted Grant Court against Le Moyne Saturday afternoon, 75-67. Grad student Max Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) scored 13 points while notching a team-high nine boards and three assists in 38 minutes for the Skyhawks. Sophomore Tony Felder (Brockton, Mass.) led Stonehill with 14 points on 5-10 shooting from the field while going 4-8 from deep. He also matched Zegarowski's team-high three assists and had the lone steal for the Skyhawks. The Dolphins were led by grad student Luke Sutherland who had game-highs of 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Le Moyne led by 13, 58-45, with just over 12 minutes left on the clock when Stonehill got things rolling on both ends of the floor, sparking a 13-0 run over five minutes to tie the score at 58-58. The Dolphins converted on eight of their 10 free throw attempts and four of their seven shot attempts, closing out the game on a 17-9 run, winning 75-67.
