Men’s Track and Field Battles at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. (April 20, 2024) - The Stonehill College men's track and field team finished in sixth place with 60 points at the Holy Cross Invite at the Hart Field & Track Saturday afternoon.

FIELD EVENTS

  • Senior Jacob Pacheco (Merrimack, N.H.) came in second place in the pole vault with a height of 4.55m (14'11.25"), his best mark of the spring.
  • Senior Chris Cox (Warwick, R.I.) placed fifth in the hammer while setting a new personal record with a toss of 49.00m (160' 9").
  • A pair of freshmen finished back-to-back in the high jump as Keagan Fletcher (Wrentham, Mass.) and Drew Pierson (Ellsworth, Maine) each hit 1.82m (5' 11.65') to place sixth and seventh.
  • Junior Parker Hagen (Newport, R.I) placed second in the triple jump, launching himself 13.74m (44' 2.25").
  • Sophomore Levi Wurster (Coventry, R.I.) had his best finish in the triple jump this season, placing sixth with a jump of 12.40m (40' 8.25").

TRACK EVENTS

  • Junior Shea Drugan (Westfield, Mass.) set a PR in the 100-meter dash, placing eighth with a time of 10.91 seconds.
  • Freshman Will Tinkham (Stoughton, Mass.) placed seventh in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.01 seconds.
  • For the third week in a row, senior Solomon King (Norwood, Mass.) made Stonehill history, breaking his own outdoor 400-meter dash school record with a time of 48.18 seconds to match his best time in the indoor 400m. The senior sprinter placed second in the event and improved to fifth in the Northeast Conference in the event.
  • Along with breaking his own school record that he set just two weeks ago, King also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.36 seconds.
  • Also competing in the 400m dash was Freshman Jon Dougherty (Reading, Mass.) who came in seventh place with a new PR of 49.98 seconds.
  • In the 400-meter hurdles, junior Louis Warner (Kinderhook, N.Y.) set a personal record with a time of 58.29 to place 14th.
  • Freshman Brendan Wilder (Waltham, Mass.) came in 11th place in the 800-meter race while setting a new PR at 1:55.56.
  • Junior Jace Hollenbach (Topsham, Maine) set a new PR in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:59.70 to place eighth on Saturday
  • In the 4x400-meter relay race, the team of sophomore Thomas Forde (Mystic, Conn.), senior Connor Hughes (Melrose, Mass.), freshman Matthew Malora (Harrington Park, N.J.), and Wilder placed fifth with a season-best time of 3:25.96.
