Men's Track Wraps-Up Day One At New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (May 13, 2022)- The Stonehill College men's track and field team concluded day one of competition at the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships with having both Solomon King and Shea Drugan compete in the 200-meter dash preliminaries.

Highlights:

  • King ran in the 200-meter dash for the sixth time this season and in today's meet, he posted a time of 22.14 seconds which was good for 16th place on the day and third in his heat. Overall on the season, King has posted top-three finishes in five of the six times he has competed in the race. Two of his top-three finishes resulted in wins at both the Merrimack Track Carnival on April 9 and the Skyhawk Invitational on April 30. King also posted his personal record in the event at the Skyhawk Invitational at a time of 21.68 seconds. In terms of the Northeast-10 Conference, King's top time in the 200-meter is the fourth fastest in the NE10 this outdoor season. 
  • Meanwhile for Drugan, it was also his sixth time competing in the 200-meter. Today he crossed the finish line at 22.38 seconds for 24th place overall, and fifth in his heat. For the year, Drugan has posted a top-five finish every time he has competed in this event except once when he finished eighth. He ran for his career-best at the Skyhawk Invitational when he came in second place at 21.78 seconds which ranks seventh in the NE10.
