Men's Track & Field Competes In Art Kadish Elm City Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 5, 2021)-Stonehill College men's track and field began their indoor season with a fourth place finish at the Art Kadish Elm City Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut Univeristy Sunday afternoon. On the day, freshman Sean Theurer paced the ten Skyhawk top-five finishes with a win in the 400-meter dash.

Highlights

  • In his collegiate debut, Theurer earned a victory in the 400-meter dash event with a time of 54.37 seconds. Not far behind was Casey Ivester who finished in third place at 54.77 seconds.
  • Also making his debut, was Jackson Domingo who competed in the 600-meter and crossed the finish line for a fourth place finish at 1:28.32. Noah Drapeau was shortly behind Domino when he finished in sixth (1:29.01).
  • In the 3000-meter, Stonehill saw three differnt student-athletes place in the top-10: Patrick Garratt-9:07.28 (third), Ian Cann-9:20.08 (fifth), and Michael Parzych-9:52.24 (tenth). 
  • For throwing events, Robert Listi paced the squad as he finished third in the weight throw when he recorded a 45.7 foot throw. Chris Cox and Ethan Peck also saw spots in the top-ten with throws of 44.8 feet (fifth) and 42.01 feet (seventh) respectively. 

Other Performances

  • Shea Drugan was yet another Stonehill College freshman making his debut and ended up having two top-15 finishes in the 200-meter dash when he posted a time of 23.62 seconds (fifth). He also ended up in 14th for the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.68 seconds. 
  • Jacob Pacheco ended up having a third place finish in the pole vault when he made a clearence of 13.4 feet. 
  • Stonehill ended up having two top-ten finishes in the long jump when Cameron Bernard (fifth) and Sam Anderson (seventh) had marks of 21.8 and 21.5 respectively.
  • The 55-meter hurdles saw yet another top-ten finish for the Skyhawks as Jake Dwyer posted a time of 8.49 for a seventh place finish.

Stonehill will have some time off before their next meet before heading out to Harvard University for two days at the Harvard Multi & Beantown Challenge on January 6-7.
