Women's Soccer Defeated By Brown University

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 18, 2022)- The Stonehill College women's soccer team wrapped up their five-game road trip with a non-conference matchup at Brown University where the squad fell 11-0 Tuesday evening at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

The Details

  • Brown's offense got the scoring started early and did not look back as the Bears netted five goals (Anderson-12:24, Myers- 17:57 and 25:54, Quinn-29:39, and Cummings-40:26) in the opening frame with four coming under 30 minutes. 
  • Before the half concluded, Stonehill had a chance to get on the board when Emmy Dumaresq sent a hard shot on net but saw her attempt stopped by Gevelber.
  • The Bears continued their momentum to start the second half when they tacked on two goals in a little under 15 minutes (Maguire-49:13 and 54:32) which pushed their lead to seven. The Skyhawks had a couple of chances after the Brown goals when Dumaresq and Taylor Burnham each saw their shots go just wide of the Bears net.
  • After Burnham's shot, Brown added four more goals (Myers-56:27, Schlosser-67:32, Cummings-77:07, and 80:32).
