The Details

  • The Skyhawks wasted no time as Hannah Anselmo got the scoring started just a little over five minutes into the opening half (5:27) when she riffled a shot past Bartly. Anselmo's first-half goal marked the first of her collegiate career.
  • Both squads continued to play hard for the next 24 minutes as each side battled defensively. However, at the 29:56 mark, Stonehill pushed the lead to two (2-0) after Lauren Clement potted her first goal on the afternoon. For the rest of the half, Stonehill's defense kept Adams State at bay by allowing just two shots but was turned away each time by Durham.
  • Stonehill's offense continued where they left off at the start of the second half (48:08) as Sharkansky scored for the second straight game which made it 3-0 Skyhawks. Exactly three minutes later (51:08), Clement netted her second goal of the afternoon and pushed the Skyhawks lead to four (4-0). With today's two-goal performance, Clement tied a career-high for goals in a match and it is just the second time in her career she posted a multi-goal game.
  • After Clement's goal, Stonehill's strong defense helped maintain the shutout which included two more saves by Durham. Today's contest marked the Stonehill debut for Durham after previously playing at Sacred Heart University for the last two seasons.
  • Overall on the day, Stonehill doubled up Adams State in shots (14-7) and was led by Sharkansky with three. Clement, Emmy Dumaresq, and Paige Marjanski were the other Skyhawks with multiple shots (two). The purple and white also held the advantage in corner kicks (8-5) including an 8-1 margin in the second half.
