AUBURNDALE, Fla. (March 9, 2022)- The Stonehill College softball team extended their win streak to three games after they topped the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, 5-1 Wednesday afternoon.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Adinolfi wasted no time in getting Stonehill on the board first as she led off the game with her first career home run. Later in the inning, Alyssa Grossi drove in Paige Wodarski off an RBI single to make it 2-0 early.
  • Later in the top of the third, the Skyhawks added on two more insurance runs when Grossi struck out but the ball went past the catcher and Courtney Brochu was alert on the basepath and took advantage. As the Devils catcher attempted her throw, Brochu saw the past ball and rounded third to score whereas Grossi moved up to second. From there, May Dawes singled home Grossi and increased the lead to 4-0.
  • Despite giving up a run in the bottom of the third, Stonehill starter Kelly Mayette shut down the Devils the rest of the way retiring seven straight batters.
  • Alexandra Hammond added on one more run for the purple and white in the top of the fifth when she launched her second homer of the season for the 5-0 advantage before the game ultimately got called due to rain.
