EASTON, Mass. (June 1, 2020) – Stonehill College placed two student-athletes on the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® First Team for men's cross country and track & field, as selected by CoSIDA members in Division II from the East Region.

Junior hurdler Ethan Famiano and sophomore distance runner Nickolas McNamee have both earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® first team honors for the first time in their careers. The duo, combined with Stonehill's program-record five women's cross country/track & field Academic All-District® honorees, give the Skyhawks a Northeast-10 Conference-high seven men's and women's All-District® selections overall. Famiano and McNamee give the Stonehill men's cross country and track & field programs 27 Academic All-District® honorees all-time and are now eligible for Academic All-America® selection, as voted by CoSIDA members.


Famiano, a two-time All-Region performer, earns Academic All-District® honors for the first time.

Famiano, who has earned a 3.50 cumulative grade point average as an elementary education and philosophy dual major at Stonehill, earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® first team honors for the first time. He has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll all five semesters to date, including Academic Distinction status for having a semester GPA between 3.50 and 3.99 in the fall, and Athletic Director's Honor Roll four semesters for having a semester GPA of 3.20 or higher.

Famiano is a two-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East Region performer, earning the honors for the 60-meter hurdles for the second time with his time of 8.44-seconds at the New England Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. He earned All-New England and All-NE10 third team honors for the 110-meter high hurdles last spring, posting a seventh-place finish at the 2019 New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 14.81-seconds, and a third-place finish at the NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 14.63-seconds. Famiano was also a member of Stonehill's 4x100-meter relay that finished third at the 2019 NE10 Outdoor Championships in 42.16-second for third team All-NE10 honors as well.

Famiano competes in the hurdles and sprints for Stonehill, having posted a personal-best of 8.43-seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, 7.86-seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, 14.63-seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles and 57.50-seconds in the 400-meter hurdles. He has also clocked in at a personal-best 11.71-seconds in the 100-meter dash and 23.60-seconds for the 200-meter dash.


McNamee, a five-time All-Region performer, is also a first-time Academic-All-District® honoree.

McNamee, who has earned a 3.72 cumulative GPA as a history major at Stonehill, also earned Academic All-District® first team honors for the first time. He is a two-time NE10 Academic All-Conference selection, earning the honors for both cross country and indoor track & field during his sophomore season, while also collecting All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA twice as well. McNamee received the St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal this spring for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the men's cross country team and has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, receiving Academic Distinction status all three semesters for having a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99, while being named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll all three semesters as well.

McNamee is a five-time USTFCCCA All-East Region performer, earning the honors with his eighth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country East Regional (32:09 – 10K) and for the one mile run during the 2019-20 indoor track & field season when he posted a personal-best time of 4:12.21 at the Boston University Last Chance Qualifier in late February. He is a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier, competing at two-straight NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, helping the Skyhawks to 2018 NCAA East Regional Championship, and qualifying for the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships with the Skyhawks 4000-meter distance medley relay team.

McNamee is a six-time All-NE10 performer, with a pair of indoor honors this winter to go with cross country accolades for the second-straight season with his 20th place finish (28:07.6 – 8K) at the 2019 NE10 Championships. He also turned in a third-place finish for the indoor mile at the 2020 NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships (4:17.43) and helping the Skyhawks 4x800-meter relay to a second place finish (7:53.45), while also running the 800-meter run (2:08.51) at the Championships. McNamee earned All-New England honors for the third time in his career with his fourth place finish in the one mile run (4:12.48) in February, to go with honors with the 4x800-meter relay at the 2019 New England Outdoor Championships, and a seventh-place finish in the mile as a freshman.

The Stonehill men's cross country and track & field programs enjoyed a strong 2019-20 season, led by the cross country program qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships for the 17th-straight year with a third-place team finish at the East Regional after posting a second-place finish at the NE10 Championships. The Skyhawks also turned in a fifth-place team finish at the 2020 NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.
