Men’s Cross Country Takes On Paul Short Run

McNamee leads the Skyhawks with a top-50 finish

BETHLEHEM, Massachusetts (October 6, 2019) – The Stonehill College men's cross country team, who is ranked No. 4 in the East Regional U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) week three rankings, finished 14th out of 45 teams at the Lehigh Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday morning.

The University of New Hampshire led the way in the team brown race with 114 points, while Southern Connecticut State University placed second with 233 points and Binghamton followed close behind with 234 points for third place.

Sophomore Nickolas McNamee led the way for the Skyhawks as he placed 40th out of 393 competitors with a time of 25:17.4 in the eight-kilometer race. Freshman Reilly Johnston also made the top-50 with a time of 25:22.9 finishing 50th.

Junior Jeff Pichie was the next Purple & White to cross the finish line taking home 73rd as the final Skyhawk to finish in the top-100 with his time of 25:31.2. Classmate Kevin Wheelock finished 133rd with his time of 25:55.1, while sophomore Shane Braz was the final Skyhawk to earn the team points as he placed 164th with a time of 26:08.0.

The Skyhawks will battle it out at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 12.
