Ladino, Kott Named to All-Tournament Team for NCAA Division II Championships
Skyhawk seniors cited following Sunday's National Championship at W.B. Mason Stadium
EASTON, Mass. (November 15, 2009) - Stonehill College seniors Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) and Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) were both selected to the All-Tournament team for the 2009 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships held at W.B. Mason Stadium this weekend.
The senior duo was cited for their efforts in Stonehill's 2-1 semifinal setback to fifth-ranked and third-seeded University of Massachusetts Lowell on Friday evening before a crowd of 1,243. It marks the second All-Tournament team selections for both who were selected following the Northeast-10 Conference championships at W.B. Mason Stadium two weeks ago as well.
No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Bloomsburg University (22-1) finished off its fourth-straight National Championship and record 13th Division II title overall with a 3-2 win over UMass Lowell this afternoon.
Stonehill completed its season with a 17-5 record overall and regular season champions of the Northeast-10 with a 9-1 clip. The Skyhawks were ranked third in the final regular season Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll.
Ladino, a first team All-American last season, is a three-time All-NE-10 selection with her first team selection this season. Kott, the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, earned her first All-NE-10 pick with first team honors this fall.
