EASTON, Mass. (December 17, 2009) - Three members of the Northeast-10 Conference champion Stonehill College field hockey team earned All-America honors from both the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and womensfieldhockey.com. The three All-America selections matches the program record last accomplished in 2007 and runs the program's total number of All-Americans to 11.

Seniors Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) and Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) were both consensus first team All-America selections, while classmate Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) was named Defensive MVP for Division II as well as first team All-America honors from womensfieldhockey.com, while collecting second team Longstreth/NFHCA All-America plaudits.


Ladino

Ladino, who becomes just the third two-time All-American in program history, collects Longstreth/NFHCA accolades for the second-straight year after earning second team honors as a junior. The three-time All-Northeast-10 selection totaled 12 goals (7th NE-10) and five assists for 29 points (9th) in her senior season and was named to the All-NE-10 first team while also earning All-Tournament team honors at both the NE-10 and NCAA Division II Championships and was selected to play in the NFHCA Division II Senior All-Star Game.

Ladino capped her All-America career ranked second in program history with 35 career assists, third with 97 points and fourth with 31 career goals in 84 career games played. She collected NE-10 Player of the Week honors once this past fall and three times in her career. 


Kott

Kott earns All-America honors for the first time with her consensus choice. The NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year spearheaded a defensive unit which led the NE-10 and ranked third in Division II with a 1.13 team goals against average with a Conference-best six shutouts this season. She also led the Skyhawks with nine assists (3rd NE-10) and added two defensive saves. The first team All-Conference performer was also named to the All-Tournament teams at both the NE-10 and NCAA Division II Championships and was selected to play in the NFHCA Division II Senior All-Star Game.

Kott started 79 of the 84 games she appeared in over her Stonehill career and is a two-time ZAG/NFHCA National Academic Squad member. In addition to being a part of a Skyhawks defense that has finished no lower than third in team GAA over her career, Kott dished 12 career assists. She earned NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week honors four times this past fall - the first season the weekly award was given.


Hourihan

Hourihan also earns All-America honors for the first time with her consensus first team selection. She matched her own single-season program record with 20 goals in her final collegiate season (3rd NE-10) to go with four assists for a team-high 44 points (3rd). Hourihan led the NE-10 with ten game-winning goals, scoring the opening goal in seven games and posting two hat tricks. She earned All-Conference honors for the second-straight season and was named NE-10 Player of the Week honors three times this past fall and four time over her career.

Stonehill (17-4, 9-1 NE-10), ranked third in the final Kookaburra/NFHCA Division II poll, captured its second Northeast-10 regular season championship this fall. The Skyhawks earned their third NCAA Tournament bid, were named the top seed in the North Region and served as host of the 2009 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships for the first time in program history. In addition to their second national semifinal appearance in program history, Stonehill was also NE-10 Tournament finalists this season as well.
