EASTON, Mass. (September 18, 2023) – Senior running back Jermaine Corbett has earned Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors for the second-straight week to highlight Stonehill College's weekly accolades from the Conference following its 23-20 victory at Georgetown University on Saturday.

Corbett, who has collected NEC Player of the Week accolades for the fourth time over the last two seasons, to go with a Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2021, was also named an NEC Prime Performer for the second-straight week, along with junior wide receiver Chris Domercant for the first time in his career. Freshman cornerback Nigel Henderson rounds out the weekly awards for the Skyhawks with NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the first time.

Corbett paced a Stonehill offense that recorded 348 total yards against a Georgetown defense that entered Saturday ranked No. 1 in NCAA I FCS with 131 yards rushing on 29 carries and two touchdowns to surpass 100 yards for the second-straight week and sixth time in his career overall. He put Stonehill in front with an eight-yard touchdown run at the end of a ten-play, 89-yard drive on the Skyhawks first possession of the game. His second touchdown was a six-yard run early in the second quarter that gave Stonehill a 13-7 lead in a game they never trailed. Corbett also chipped in six yards on three receptions to finish the day with 136 all-purpose yards.

The NEC preseason All-Conference selection and All-NEC first team pick in 202 moved into a tie for fifth in Stonehill history with 16 career rushing touchdowns, while also ranking tenth all-time with 1,545 yards on 279 carries in 18 career games. Corbett surpassed 100 career points with his two touchdowns on Saturday with 102, having scored 17 total touchdowns over his career.

Henderson earns his first NEC weekly honor after totaling four solo tackles, including a forced fumble that Stonehill recovered with 3:31 remaining to help seal Stonehill's win on Saturday on the drive following senior Perry Shelbred's go-ahead 37-yard field goal. Henderson, who also collected FedEx Ground FCS National Rookie of the Week accolades, has appeared in all three games for the Skyhawks to date and has totaled 12 tackles (11 solo), including 1.0 tackles for a loss of four yards.

Domercant joins Corbett on the NEC Prime Performer list after totaling five receptions for a season-high 94 yards and a touchdown at Georgetown, while carrying the ball twice for another 19 yards for a season-best 113 all-purpose yards. His 12-yard touchdown catch from junior quarterback Ashur Carraha capped an impressive 16-play drive to open the second half that consumed the first eight minutes of the third quarter and saw him reach the end zone for the second-straight week. Domercant also had a key 42-yard catch from Carraha on the Skyhawks first possession of the game to help set up Corbett's opening touchdown.

Stonehill (2-1, 1-0 NEC) is back in action on Saturday, when it wraps up its three-game road trip at Fordham University, a 2022 FCS playoffs participant that is ranked No. 22 in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS National Coaches poll, at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks next home game is the following Saturday, September 30, against reigning NEC Champions and FCS playoff participant Saint Francis (Pa.)
