Marshall Named NE10 Pitcher of the Week for Second Time

Junior earns second award of the season with career outing on the mound

NE10 Announces Baseball Weekly Awards: Week 8

EASTON, Massachusetts (May 4, 2021) – Stonehill College baseball's Luke Marshall was named Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance on the mound, announced by the League on Monday.  

The Skyhawks improved to 15-12 overall and 10-10 in the Conference after sweeping four games against Saint Anselm College this weekend in their last home series of the regular season.

Marshall earned his second win of the season with an 11-6 victory over Saint Anselm, as he tossed 8.0 innings on Saturday in game one. The junior allowed just three hits and one run for a 1.13 ERA, while he struck out a career-best 10 batters in his longest outing of the year. Stonehill held the lead throughout the game, as Marshall only allowed seven base runners throughout his 8.0 innings.

Earlier this season, Marshall earned his first NE10 honor after throwing 7.0 innings and allowing only three hits and one earned run. The junior walked one batter and struck out six for a 1.29 ERA.

Marshall has made 22 appearances in the Purple & White over his three years, where he has tossed 88.2 innings, striking out 84 batters, with 51 earned runs. Marshall is a 2018 graduate of Swampscott High School where he played baseball and named to the honor roll for all four years.

Stonehill will face Bentley University (14-8, 13-7 NE10) for its final regular season four-game series this weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Friday, May 7 with a start time noon, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, May 8 with a start time of noon in Waltham, Massachusetts on DeFelice Field.
