NE10 Spring Spectator Announcement

Letter from Dean O'Keefe '94, Director of Athletics

EASTON, Massachusetts (March 11, 2021) - Stonehill College has announced its institutional policy for fan attendance at its home events as it starts its spring athletic season. This announcement is made in conjuction with the Northeast-10 Conference's decision by the Council of Presidents to not allow spectators from outside the campus community to attend athletic contests.

Stonehill is pleased to announce that it will permit a limited number of Stonehill students participating in campus COVID-19 testing to attend outdoor home contests at this time.

Unfortunately at this time, no other spectators (i.e. student-athlete family members and friends, fans who are not Stonehill College students), will be allowed to attend outdoor collegiate sporting events held at Stonehill College until further notice.

Stonehill, and its fellow NE10 member institutions, will work to provide live streams of home baseball, softball and women's lacrosse regular season games when possible on NE10 NOW – the digital home of the NE10. Stonehill home games played on campus for baseball, softball and lacrosse will be available through SkyhawksVision on NE10 NOW, while every effort to stream any home games played off campus will also be made so long as the facility can support it. In addition to watching online, viewers will also be able to watch the action live on their televisions through Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku by downloading the NE10 NOW app.

Live results for home men's and women's tennis matches will be available via stonehillskyhawks.com.

Should there be a change in this policy, a release will be distributed via the College's athletic website, social media outlets and shared with athletic department administrators, coaches and staff.

STONEHILL COLLEGE ATHLETICS – 2021 SPRING SPORTS FAN ATTENDANCE PROTOCOL

As of March 10, 2021

On March 10, The Northeast 10 Conference announced that to begin the 2021 spring sport season, no spectators from outside the campus community will be permitted to attend athletic contests.  Each NE10 institution may, if they elect to, allow a limited number of students and staff following campus testing protocols to attend home contests if local and state guidelines permit.

At this time, Stonehill is eagerly planning to allow a limited number of Stonehill students participating in campus COVID-19 testing to attend outdoor home contests.

  • Attendance will be limited to 40 fans at Watt Tennis Courts, 40 fans at Gartland Softball Field, 40 fans at Gorman Baseball Field and 250 fans at W.B. Mason Stadium.
  • Students are asked to arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest, and students will be permitted into the competition venue until capacity is reached.
  • If fan capacity is not reached at the start of the contest, Stonehill faculty and staff participating in college testing protocols will be also allowed entry until capacity is reached.
  • All students and staff attending must present their valid Stonehill HILL ID card to gain entry.
  • No food or beverage will be permitted to allow for universal masking throughout the contest.
  • Masks and social distancing of 6+ feet will be required of fans at all times.
  • If a home event is moved off campus for any reason, no spectators will be permitted to attend.
  • If a tennis match is moved indoors to the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex, or off campus facility, due to weather or other circumstances, no spectators will be permitted to attend.
