EASTON, Massachusetts (February 12, 2020) – Sophomore Aidan Wilde was recently named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-East Region first team with eight days until their first contest.

Wilde was one of two sophomores named to the first team, while seven out of the 14 were from the NE10.

At the end of last season, Wilde was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie Hitter of the Year award, the program's first major award for a rookie. He highlighted six All-Conference selections for the Skyhawks, as he was also tabbed on the All-Rookie Team.

The sophomore finished second on the team with a .313 batting average and first on the team with a .433 on base percentage including six stolen bases. He played in 46 out of 47 games on the schedule, with 42 of them at third base. At the plate, he tallied 14 multiple hit games, where he went 50-for-160, scoring 35 runs to lead the team, and drove in 21 RBI. As a freshman, he registered eight double-doubles, three triples, and three homeruns, while drawing 26 walks to lead the team.

Early in the season, Wilde was named NE10 Rookie of the Week for a .444 batting average, swinging 4-for-9, scoring three runs, and driving in three RBI in Florida. In the NE10 the Milford, Massachusetts native ended the 2020 season ranked eighth in on base percentage (.433), 10th in walks (26), 12th in runs scored (35), 18th in hits (50), 21st in batting average (.313), and 37th in doubles (8).

The Skyhawks will kick off the 2020 season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for five games opening the season with Felician College on Thursday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. Stonehill will then travel to Florida for three games from Friday, February 28 to Sunday, March 1 before taking on nine games in Florida during spring break from March 6 to March 14.
