Northeast-10 Conference Announces Weekly Honors: Week 5
EASTON, Massachusetts (March 16, 2020) – Senior Jeremiah Vargas of the Stonehill College baseball team was named Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.
The senior earned his third win of the season as the Skyhawks earned their first shutout of the year in a 5-0 victory over Caldwell University. He threw 7.2 innings against the Cougars allowing only four hits and no runs. He struck out five batters and walked three.
This was his fourth win of his career on the mound, as he has pitched 13.1 innings this season. Classmates Michael White and Richard Ryan assisted on the mound as they completed the shutout for the Skyhawks.
This week the Skyhawks went 2-0 in Florida as they defeated Caldwell and NE10 foe Adelphi University, 9-2, in non-league play. Overall the Skyhawks finished their three trips with a record of 8-5.
