Men's Track & Field Opens NE10 Championships with Two Events

Braz scores in the 10,000-meter run to lead Skyhawks

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 6, 2021) – Stonehill College competed in two events on day one of the 2021 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by American International College, at John G. Hoyt Track & Field Complex this afternoon.

Junior Shane Braz placed sixth out of 20 entries in the 10,000-meter run to score three points for Stonehill. He finished in 32:19.36, scoring three points for Skyhawks in the team standings.

Freshman Chris Cox placed ninth out of 19 entries in the hammer throw with a distance of 134-feet, 10-inches.

Stonehill's three points from the two events has the Skyhawks in seventh place in the team standings after the first day. Host American International leads the way with 29 points, followed by Southern Connecticut State University (18 points) in second and Adelphi University (10) third.

Stonehill will return to action for day two of the NE10 Championships on Friday in Springfield, starting at 10:30 a.m.
