The Details

  • SUNY Cortland's offense jumped out to a quick three-goal lead courtesy of Huldreth, Settimi, and Knowlton. However, Stonehill chipped away at the deficit after Cohen sent a shot on net but despite being turned away by Durante, Schwenninger was in the right place as he snuck the puck past Durante which made it 3-1.
  • As the second period got underway, Stonehill and SUNY Cortland went back and forth and despite the Dragons outshooting the Skhawks, 18-9, FitzPatrick stonewalled each shot and kept the Purple and White within striking distance. With a little over 10 minutes left in the frame (11:22), Stonehill knocked SUNY Cortland's lead down to one after Tripp found an open Pineo for his fifth goal of the season.
  • However, the Dragons opened things up in the third period when they exploded for seven goals to ultimately put the game away. During SUNY Cortland's offensive outburst, Schwenninger and Talarico ended up finding the back of the net. For Schwenninger, it is his second game on the season with at least two goals.
  • Despite the loss, FitzPatrick's 39 saves marked the sixth time in his career he posted 35 or more saves. In those six games, FitzPatrick is 3-3.
