Hickey Adds Pair of All-America Honors

EASTON, Mass. (December 16, 2021) – Stonehill College sophomore forward Raegan Hickey has collected the first All-America honors of her career with her selection to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and Synapse Sports Division II second team.

Hickey, an All-Northeast-10 Conference first team and All-Rookie Team selection this fall earns All-America honors for the first time in her career with her pair of second team awards, marking the program's 36th NFHCA All-America selection in the programs 25-year history. She is the first sophomore to receive All-America recognition since Michaela Antonellis, '20 was a first team selection in 2017.

Hickey, a three-time NE10 Rookie of the Week over the course of the season, had an immediate impact at forward for Stonehill this fall. She played all 18 games, starting 17, and ranks eighth among NE10 scoring leaders with her team-high 29 points, third in the Conference with a team-high 11 assists to go with a team-best nine goals (15th NE10). Hickey ranks fifth nationally for assists per game (0.56) with her assist total tied for fourth on Stonehill's all-time single-season list.

Hickey finished with two gamewinning goals and registered multiple points in six games in her first collegiate season. She dished a career-best two assists in a 3-1 win over Saint Michael's College on October 6. Hickey had a hand in both Skyhawk goals against then No. 1 West Chester (Pa.) University on September 6, posting a goal and assist in five games in all this fall. She has also been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll both semesters to date, receiving Academic Honors status for having a semester grade point average between 3.00 and 3.49.

Stonehill (13-5, 11-3 NE10), ranked No. 10 in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II poll, finished its 2021 season with a 13-5 record overall, including 11-3 in the NE10. The Skyhawks made their NE10 record matching 22nd NE10 Tournament appearance as the No. 3 seed in the tournament and were ranked No. 4 in the final regular season NCAA Division II East Regional rankings. In addition to Hickey's All-America plaudits, she was among five to earn NE10 postseason honors, while seniors Elisha Brinkman, Abigail Campbell and Emma Mawn were named to the NFHCA Senior All-Star Team.
