How it Happened

  • Stonehill senior Abigail Campbell made five of her career-high seven saves in the first half to notch her first career shutout in the first start of her collegiate career this afternoon.

Sophomore Raegan Hickey made the most of her long overdue collegiate debut, with her first career goal the lone marker of the contest with less than eight minutes to play the difference.
  • East Stroudsburg held a 10-3 advantage for shots in the first half, but had nothing to show for it, finishing with a 15-9 edge in the end.
  • Sophomore Amy Supey was making her collegiate debut in goal for East Stroudsburg and finished with four stops, yielding just the one goal.
  • Hickey's winner came off a rebound with 7:44 to play as she pounced on a rebound on the right side of the goal off senior Olivia Cameron's saved attempt and lofted her shot high into the left side of the cage for what proved to be the gamewinner.
  • East Stroudsburg, which finished with an 8-1 advantage in penalty corners, forced their eighth in the final minute of play, but senior Celeste Veenstra had her shot from just inside the top of the circle go wide of the cage.

Noteworthy

  • Campbell's first career shutout came in her first career start and just fifth appearance over her four seasons at Stonehill. She had registered just one save in her four previous appearances before notching her career-best seven this afternoon.
