Women’s Track & Field Finish Day One of NEC Outdoor Championships

NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Information

ANDOVER, Mass. (May 6, 2023) – The Stonehill College women's outdoor track and field team competed in the first day of the program's first Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 6 and May 7). The team made huge strides during the meet, ending the first day in third place overall (40.5 points), trailing behind Saint Francis University in second (42 points) and Merrimack College in first (45 points).

  • Starting the Skyhawks off strong, Madison Gunderway finished first place in the hammer throw event with a max distance of 50.34 meters, earning a new PR and breaking her own school record in the event.
  • Keeping the first place streak alive, Kaytlin Encarnacao finished in first place in the preliminary time trials with a new PR time of 56.82 in the 400-meter race, having the top time in the conference, and qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • Emma Lawrence ran in the 800-meter time trials, placing first with a time of 2:14.98, qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • In the 4x800 meter relay finals, Stonehill's team A (Malloy, Marshall, Cote, and Lawrence) finished in first place overall with a time of 9:17.52.
  • In the 10,000-meter race, Rebecca Erhard finished in second place overall with a final time of 37.49.63, setting a new PR.
  • Competing in the 1500-meter distance event, Emily Young ran in the preliminary time trials with a third-place finish, and a time of 4:50.86, earning a new PR and qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • In the long jump event, Kaia Eder placed third overall with a max distance of 5.57 meters, earning a new PR.

  • In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, Madison Rousseau placed fourth overall with a time of 14.65, qualifying for tomorrow's final race. She also competed in the 400-meter hurdles prelims, placing fifth overall with a time of 1:05.79, earning a new PR and qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • In the pole vault event, Haley Lightbody placed fifth overall with a max height of 3.30 meters.
  • In the 800-meter race, Elizabeth Marshall finished sixth in the preliminary time trials with a time of 2:19.84, qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • Competing in her first track championships, Jordan Malloy ran in the 1500-meter preliminary time trials, placing seventh overall with a time of 4:54.64, qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • Vaulting for the Skyhawks, Abigail Larsson finished in seventh place with a max height of 3.20 meters in the pole vault event.
  • Placing eighth overall in the 100-meter hurdles prelims, Cassidy Becker finished with a time of 15.30, qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • Competing in the shot put event, Kaley Enright finished in eighth overall with a distance of 11.40 meters, with Darla Jagrosse close behind with a ninth-place finish and a distance of 11.15 meters.
  • In the 1500-meter time trials, Ava Cote finished with a time of 4:56.00 and a ninth-place finish, qualifying for tomorrow's final race.
  • Jillian Callahan ran in the 10,000-meter event, placing tenth overall with a time of 40.39.12.

Stonehill is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, May 7th, where both the men's and women's teams will head back to Andover, Mass. to finish the last day of the NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Merrimack College at the Duane Stadium.
