Women’s T&F Fight Tough Battle in Holy Cross Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. (April 22, 2023) – The Stonehill College women's outdoor track and field team was back on the road again, where they competed in the Holy Cross Invitational at the College of Holy Cross-Track. The team put up a tough battle against the various schools in attendance, including the University of Rhode Island, Holy Cross, UMass Amherst, University of Maine, Central Connecticut State University and Colgate University.

Highlights

In the 800 meter race, sophomore Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass. / Milford) ran hard in the event, grabbing a third place finish with a time of 2:14.58.
Senior Rebecca Erhard (Wenham, Mass. / Hamilton Wenham) ran in the 5000-meter run, making strides with a third place finish in 17:59.59.
Sophomore Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass. / Canton) ran in the 100 meter hurdles event, finishing in fourth place with a time of 14.57. She also competed in the 100 meter dash, finishing in ninth place with a time of 12.81.
In the 5000 meter event, Victoria Lombardi (Peabody, Mass / Peabody Veterans Memorial) placed fourth overall with a time of 18:02.85.
Competing in the 400 meter event was junior Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass. / Reading Memorial), who ran in a time of 56.98 and a fifth place finish. She also ran in the 200-meter event, finishing seventh with a time of 25.88.
In the women's long jump event, freshman Kaia Eder (Moorestown, N.J. / Delran) competed and grabbed a fifth place finish with a max distance of 5.38m.
In the javelin throw event, sophomore Madison Gunderway (Cranston, R.I. / Cranston East) placed fifth overall with a max distance of 28.86. She also placed ninth overall in the hammer throw event with a max distance of 45.07m

Junior Cassidy Becker (North Attleboro, Mass. / North Attleboro) competed in the high jump event, placing sixth overall with a max height of 1.50m.
Senior Elizabeth Marshall (Plymouth, Mass / Plymouth North) made strides in the 800-meter event, snagging a seventh place with a time of 2:18.36.
Freshman Sydney Cahill (Reading, Mass. / Reading Memorial) competed in the javelin throw event, throwing a max distance 25.38m, placing eighth.
Freshman Aneka Andrews (McLean, Va. / McLean) competed in the 400-meter hurdles event, finishing in eighth place overall in 1:12.35.
Freshman Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn. / Bacon Academy) competed in the 800-meter event for the Skyhawks, placing ninth overall with a time of 2:19.02.
Freshman Emily Young (Newton, Mass. / Beverly) ran in the 2000 meter steeplechase event, placing ninth overall with a finishing time of 7:53.16.
Freshman Ava Cote (Wenham, Mass. / Hamilton Wenham Regional) ran in the 1500 meter run, placing ninth overall with a time of 4:54.90.
In the 5000 meter event, senior Jillian Callahan (Plymouth, Mass / Plymouth North) finished with a time of 18:58.13, grabbing a ninth place finish.
