BEVERLY, Mass. (September 10, 2022) – Stonehill College remained unbeaten on the fall season with a 6-3 victory over Endicott College in non-conference women's tennis action.

How it Happened

  • Stonehill won two of three doubles matches to carry a 2-1 lead into singles play, with Solorzano Valencia and Antao winning the second doubles point with their 8-2 win at No. 1.
  • Peter and Beltran also won by that score line at No. 2 doubles.
  • Antao earned the first singles win for Stonehill with her 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 against Endicott senior Ashley Keaveney.
  • Beltran drew Stonehill within a point of the match win with her 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles over Endicott sophomore Olivia Martinelli.
  • Endicott rallied to put pressure on Stonehill as Hartman won at No. 6 and Berler followed with a 7-5, 7-5 decision at No. 5 singles against junior Lindsay Macdonald to pull the Gulls back to within 4-3.
  • Solorzano clinched the match win for Stonehill next with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over sophomore Ripley Uyeda.
  • Peter capped the match for Stonehill with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles over junior Shelby Henry.

Stonehill (3-0, 0-0 NEC) is back in action next weekend, when it participates in the Wellesley College Invitational, hosted at Wellesley and Babson College, on Friday through Sunday. Endicott (1-1, 0-0 CCC) visits Suffolk University on Wednesday for its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener at 6:30 p.m.
