EASTON, Mass. (November 12, 2021) – Stonehill College senior forward Camryn Thompson has earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® I first team for women's soccer, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members, the organization announced.

Thompson, who has earned a 3.92 cumulative grade point average as a biology major at Stonehill, earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® I first team honors for the second time. It marks the 12th Academic All-District® selection in program history for Stonehill women's soccer and she is the program's first two-time All-District® selection. Thompson advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot, to be voted on by CoSIDA members nationwide, with first, second and third team honorees to be announced in early December.

Thompson, a two-time Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar second team honoree from Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, recently received the Fred C. Petti Academic Honor for having the highest grade point average among all Stonehill student-athletes for the 2020-21 academic year, while also earning the Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative GPA on the women's soccer team. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll all six semesters at the College to date, with Academic Excellence status two semesters for having a 4.0 semester GPA, and Academic Distinction status four semesters with a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99. Thompson earned Dean's List status and Athletic Director's Honor Roll all six semesters and received the College's Academic Excellence Award for second year chemistry and is a teaching assistant in the biology department.

Thompson is a three-time All-Northeast-10 Conference honoree with her first team selection this week to go with a pair of second team honors over her Stonehill career as well. She currently shares the NE10 lead with her 11 goals scored this fall, ranking second among NE10 scoring leaders with 23 points, having also contributed an assist, with a team-leading two gamewinning goals while starting all 18 matches. Thompson scored multiple goals in three matches this fall, including her first career hat trick in Stonehill's 5-0 win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent on October 16. She earned NE10 Player of the Week accolades for the first time in her career on October 18.

Thompson, a two-time NEWISA All-New England first team selection, was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and was an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman. She capped her career having started 50 of the 58 matches she played, totaling 28 goals and nine assists for 65 points. She netted seven matchwinning goals and tallied multiple goals in four matches in her career. Thompson ranks seventh in program history for career goals and tied for eighth all-time in points, while her 11 goals this fall are tied for tenth on Stonehill's single-season list. Her nine goals scored as a freshman were just two shy of the program record for first year student-athletes, while her career-best six assists that season are tied for third all-time, finishing tied for the program record for freshman scoring with 24 points in 2018.

Over the COVID-19 pandemic, Thompson was able to volunteer at Franklin Farm in Cumberland, Rhode Island, where she was able to plant and harvest fresh produce for donation to the Rhode Island Food Bank and other facilities. Thompson has volunteered with Adopt-a-Family in her home state of Rhode Island since 2018, where she organizes and delivers gifts to families in need during the holidays, and with the Maddie Potts Fitness Challenge to help promote health and fitness to people in the community by fundraising for scholarships for the Maddie Potts Foundation. With the Skyhawks, Thompson has assisted in coaching youth teams that they welcomed to campus.

Stonehill finished its 2021 season with an 8-8-2 record overall, including 5-6-2 in the NE10, to finish ninth in the NE10 regular season standings. The Skyhawks won five of their last eight (5-2-1) and four of six (4-1-1), including a 3-2 victory over a regionally ranked Saint Anselm squad on October 30. Ten of Stonehill's 18 matches were decided by a single goal, with the Skyhawks going 5-5 in those contests.
