NE10 Women's Soccer Weekly Report

EASTON, Mass. (October 19, 2021) – Stonehill College senior forward Camryn Thompson has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for women's soccer by the league office.

Thompson earns the weekly award for the first time in her career after scoring four of Stonehill's six goals in a pair of games last week. She netted the first hat trick of her career in Saturday's 5-0 Senior Day win over the University of Maine, Fort Kent as part of Homecoming Weekend at the College. She scored the opening goal 11:49 into the match and then followed with goals in the 35th and 47th minutes in the victory, marking her third career multi-goal match. Thompson also scored the Skyhawks lone goal in Wednesday's 2-1 setback at Jefferson University, leveling the match in the 83rd minute.

Thompson leads Stonehill and ranks second among NE10 scoring leaders with her eight goals and 16 points, scoring a pair of match-winning goals to rank sixth among Conference leaders. She has now scored a goal in three straight matches for the Skyhawks after Saturday's hat trick and she also notched a multi-goal game with a pair of markers against then No. 14-ranked Southern New Hampshire University on September 29.

Thompson has appeared in 53 matches over her Stonehill career, helping the Skyhawks to a pair of NCAA Tournament bids as a freshman and sophomore. She ranks seventh in program history with her 25 career goals, having added eight assists for 58 career points, which is good for 11th all-time – one point shy of cracking the all-time top ten scoring list. The two-time All-NE10 performer and NEWISA All-New England first team selection has been named an Arthur Ashe, Jr., Sports Scholar twice in her career.

Thompson earned CoSIDA Academic All-District I first team honors as a junior and has received the St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the women's soccer team. She has also received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award three times and been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll each semester. The biology major earned the College's Academic Excellence Award for second year chemistry her sophomore year.

Thompson was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2018, when she matched the Stonehill freshman scoring record with 24 points, while her nine goals were two shy of the program's freshman mark. She also dished out a career-best six assists that season, a total that ranks third in program history. Thompson earned her only previous NE10 weekly award with Rookie of the Week accolades on September 10, 2018.

Stonehill (5-7-1, 2-5-1 NE10) is back in action this afternoon, when it hosts Assumption University for an NE10 matchup at Skyhawk Field at 3 p.m. The Skyhawks round out the week at Adelphi University on Saturday at 6 p.m.
