NE10 Announces Women's Soccer Postseason Awards

EASTON, Mass. (November 11, 2021) – Four members of the Stonehill College women's soccer program have earned postseason honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, as selected by the Conference's 14 head coaches, the league announced.

Senior forward Camryn Thompson headlines a group of three from Stonehill to earn All-NE10 honors with a spot on the first team for the first time in her career, while juniors Lauren Clement and Peyton Nickerson were both named to the All-NE10 third team. Sophomore Emmy Dumaresq has been selected to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

Thompson is the 40th All-NE10 first team selection in program history, with the three selections overall giving Stonehill 106 All-NE10 honorees all-time. Thompson is the 24th in program history to earn multiple All-NE10 honors, and just the ninth three-time All-NE10 selection. Dumeresq is Stonehill's tenth NE10 All-Rookie team selection since the program was initiated in 2008, marking the sixth-straight year a Skyhawk has collected the honors.

Thompson, an All-NE10 second team selection as a freshman and sophomore, earns All-NE10 first team honors for the first time. She currently shares the NE10 lead with her 11 goals scored this fall, ranking second among NE10 scoring leaders with 23 points, having also contributed an assist, with a team-leading two gamewinning goals while starting all 18 matches. Thompson scored multiple goals in three matches this fall, including her first career hat trick in Stonehill's 5-0 win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent on October 16. She earned NE10 Player of the Week accolades for the first time in her career on October 18.

Thompson, a two-time NEWISA All-New England first team selection and Arthur Ashe, Jr., Sports Scholar, was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman. She received the St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team as well as the Fred C. Petti Award for having the highest grade point average among all Stonehill student-athletes for the 2020-21 academic year. Thompson has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors, been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester.

Thompson capped her career having started 50 of the 58 matches she played, totaling 28 goals and nine assists for 65 points. She netted seven matchwinning goals and tallied multiple goals in four matches in her career. Thompson ranks seventh in program history for career goals and tied for eighth all-time in points, while her 11 goals this fall are tied for tenth on Stonehill's single-season list. Her nine goals scored as a freshman were just two shy of the program record for first year student-athletes, while her career-best six assists that season are tied for third all-time, finished tied for the program record for freshman scoring with 24 points in 2018.

Clement earns All-NE10 honors for the first time in her career with her selection to the third team. Named the NE10 Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday, she started 16 of the 17 matches she played this season, finishing second on the team with ten points and four goals, while adding the two assists. She also posted a match-winning goal in Stonehill's 3-2 victory over regionally ranked Saint Anselm College on October 30. Clement erupted for six points with two goals and the first two assists of her career in the Skyhawks 5-0 win over Pace University on November 1, that kept the team's postseason hopes alive heading into the regular season finale two days later.

Clement has appeared in 21 matches over her Stonehill career, including the 16 starts, with her ten points this season marking her career total as well. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom as well.

Nickerson earns All-NE10 honors for the first time as well, with her third team selection. She started all 18 matches for Stonehill's backline, leading a defensive unit that posted a 1.23 team goals against average with six shutouts, yielding 11.8 shots per match, including 5.3 per match on target. Nickerson, who earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week accolades on September 13, also contributed on the offensive side with three goals to finish third on the team. She scored the matchwinning goal in the Skyhawks 2-0 win over Queens (N.Y.) College on September 12.

Nickerson has started 28 of the 30 matches she has played over her Stonehill career. She chipped in with an assist as a freshman, giving her seven career points with three goals and an assist. Nickerson, a biology major enrolled in the Moreau Honors Program at the College, has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. She is secretary of the Pre-Health Society, vice president of the Make-a-Wish Club and the women's soccer team's representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, while serving as a Moreau Honors Mentor.

Dumaresq started all 17 matches played for Stonehill this fall, dishing out a team-high three assists, to go with a goal for five points. She scored her first career goal against then No. 3-ranked College of Saint Rose on October 2, three days after collecting her first collegiate point with an assist against No. 14 Southern New Hampshire University on September 29. Dumaresq has also been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom.

Stonehill finished its 2021 season with an 8-8-2 record overall, including 5-6-2 in the NE10, to finish ninth in the NE10 regular season standings. The Skyhawks won five of their last eight (5-2-1) and four of six (4-1-1), including a 3-2 victory over a regionally ranked Saint Anselm squad on October 30. Ten of Stonehill's 18 matches were decided by a single goal, with the Skyhawks going 5-5 in those contests.
