Darkness Suspends Sacred Heart Fall Invite First Round

Pignato cards lowest completed round for Skyhawks, with Dapron and DeBoise set to play final hole tomorrow morning

MILFORD, Conn. (October 16, 2022) – Darkness has suspended the first round of the Sacred Heart Fall Invitational, hosted by Sacred Heart University, on the 5,971-yard, par-72 layout at Great River Golf Club this afternoon.

Two groups remain on the course, including Stonehill senior Julia Dapron and freshman Jaelyn DeBoise who are both currently 11-over-par through 17 holes, and will wrap up play first thing tomorrow morning with the second and final round to follow.

Junior Hannah Pignato posted the lowest completed round for Stonehill today at 88 and sits tied for 50th overall. Sophomore Mollie Thomas is one shot behind at 89, while senior Emily Kase carded a 90.

Host Sacred Heart University has the lowest completed team score to this stage at 296, three shots lower than Boston University in second with a 299. Sacred Heart's Margot Rouquette and Julie Towne of Fairfield University are the leaders in the clubhouse in the first round with matching 73s.

  • Freshman Caitlin Anderson is competing as an individual this weekend and finished her round at 101, while classmate Cheyenne Couture  tallied a score of 106.
