Against the Hawks
Tonight marks the seventh meeting all-time between Stonehill and Hartford - but the first since 1984. Stonehill owns a 6-0 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 1970s after a 60-39 victory in Hartford during the Hawks first Division I season early in the 1984-85 season. Stonehill is 2-0 all-time against Hartford here at Merkert Gymnasium.

Last Time They Met
Stonehill cruised to a 60-39 victory over Hartford in Connecticut early in the Hawks first NCAA Division I season in 1984-85. Chris Donovan and Dottie Chartier combined for 30 points to lead the way for Stonehill. Chartier made 7-of-19 shots and added six rebounds, while Donovan added 14 points on 7-of-15 shooting, with four rebounds and seven assists. Stonehill opened a ten-point halftime lead (28-18) and didn't look back. Karen Ringland posted a double-double for Hartford with 13 points and 11 rebounds, adding two assists, two blocked shots and a steal. Sue Tremblay totaled 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting (4-for-4 FTs), seven rebounds and two steals.

Prime Performer

Postgrad guard Maddie Loder (Independence, Minn.) was selected as one of nine Northeast Conference "Prime Performers" for the opening week of the season. Loder averaged 13.5 points, converting 77.8-percent of her free-throws (7-for-9), over Stonehill's first two games, adding 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a steal in 30.5 minutes per game. She scored in double-figures in both Skyhawk games last week, opening with ten points at Lehigh with three rebounds, an assist and steal. Loder capped the week a point shy of her career-best with a game-high 17 points at Providence on Friday with two rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Bright Television Lights
The Northeast Conference announced last week that Stonehill's February 9 matchup with former NE10 rival Merrimack College will be broadcast live on ESPN+ through the NEC's 26-game television package. The matchup at Merkert Gym is among 21 games that will be featured on ESPN networks, including a record 13 women's games. Paul Dottino (24th year) and Craig D'Amico (14th year) will once split play-by-play duties on women's telecasts. Pam Roecker is back for her 21st year as color analyst. Pack Network and Northeast Sports Network (NSN) will handle production duties for the league's ESPN3/ESPN+ package.

Preseason Prognostications
Stonehill was picked to finish ninth in its first Northeast Conference season by the league's head coaches. Wagner received six first place votes to top the preseason rankings, followed by Fairleigh Dickenson with two first place votes. St. Francis Brooklyn is picked third, while Saint Francis (Pa.) is fourth with the remaining first place vote.

Tough Slate
Stonehill has assembled a hardy non-conference slate in its inaugural Division I season, featuring opponents from the Patriot League (2 - Lehigh, Holy Cross), Big East  (1 - Providence), America East (3 - Vermont, New Hampshire, Bryant), MAC (1 - Buffalo), MAAC (1 - Fairfield) and CAA (1 - Northeastern) to prepare for its inaugural Northeast Conference schedule that will start just after the New Year.
