Against the Bulls

There's No Place Like Home
Stonehill will play five of its 13 non-conference games at Merkert Gymnasium, including a run of three-straight in late December to head directly into its inaugural NEC schedule, of which two of its first three will also be at home. After hosting Buffalo in its inaugural Division I home game tonight, the Skyhawks will host Hartford (Nov. 21), UAlbany (12/14), Northeastern (12/20) and Queens (N.Y.) (12/29).

A Rarity
Tonight marks Stonehill's first home opener against a non-conference opponent since November 14, 2014, when the Skyhawks posted a 69-54 victory over Dominican (N.Y.) College here at Merkert Gym.  Stonehill has won two-straight home openers against non-conference opposition dating back to 2009.

It's Been a While
Stonehill last hosted a non-conference opponent in 2018, when it posted a 4-1 mark in those three games. After posting wins over Caldwell (74-54) and Molloy (73-60), the Skyhawks were edged by University of Sciences (80-75) on December 30, 2018 - Stonehill's non-conference home opponent.

Taking Care Of Business
Stonehill has won 15 of its last 16 home games against non-conference opposition, including two NCAA Tournament wins against Saint Thomas Aquinas and USciences during the 2018 NCAA East Regional, and has posted a 23-2 record against non-conference opposition dating back to 2005.

Bright Television Lights
The Northeast Conference announced last week that Stonehill's February 9 matchup with former NE10 rival Merrimack College will be broadcast live on ESPN+ through the NEC's 26-game television package. The matchup at Merkert Gym is among 21 games that will be featured on ESPN networks, including a record 13 women's games. Paul Dottino (24th year) and Craig D'Amico (14th year) will once split play-by-play duties on women's telecasts. Pam Roecker is back for her 21st year as color analyst. Pack Network and Northeast Sports Network (NSN) will handle production duties for the league's ESPN3/ESPN+ package.

St. Francis Brooklyn is picked third, while Saint Francis (Pa.) is fourth with the remaining first place vote.
